Coty Dickerson

Coty is extremely honored and blessed to have had the opportunity to teach and coach for 24 years in Appomattox County. He will never forget the athletes and coaches who helped his teams be competitive in the Seminole District. He would like to remind everyone to please remember to always do your best and seek out the best ways to follow your lifetime dreams. Longtime COA official Coty Dickerson passed away Wednesday. Coty was an official in the LAOA and COA in multiple sports for over 30 years. He also officiated on the collegiate level for many years. He was a teacher and coach in the Appomattox County school system. Coty officiated from the youth level to the collegiate level throughout his career and gave the same effort and enthusiasm in every game he worked. He had a unique style that was all his own and he was a favorite of spectators, players and coaches alike. He truly officiated for love of the game and "for the kids" as he was fond of saying.
