Tricia Moore Barber

Biography
She was a multi-sport athlete at Appomattox from 1999-2002. She played Softball (3 years JV, 2 years Varsity), Volleyball (3 years JV, 2 years Varsity), and Basketball (1 year JV). Her athletic achievements include: 2002 Dogwood District Volleyball Honorable-Mention All-District, 2001 Dogwood District Softball Honorable- Mention All-District Outfield, 2002 Dogwood District Softball1st-Team All-District Outfield, 2002 Region III 2nd-Team All-Region Outfield, 2002 “News & Advance” First-Team All-Area Softball. After graduating from ACHS, Trica attended Ferrum College. She played Volleyball 1 year at Ferrum College, and was a 4 year starter for the Ferrum Softball Team from 2003-06. She helped the Panthers win the 2005 USA South Conference Tournament and earn the college's second ever NCAA Division III Softball Tournament appearance. She earned USA South First-Team All-Conference and Virginia Sports Information Directors All-State first team accolades in 2006. She also made the USA South Conference All-Tournament Team in 2004 and 2005, and USA South 50th Anniversary Softball Team in 2015. She holds Ferrum College records for career at-bats and career home runs, and earned Ferrum batting titles in 2004 and 2006. She served two years as assistant softball coach at Ferrum after graduation. Trica has been selected to the 2021 Class of the Ferrum College Sports Hall of Fame, and will be inducted on October 30, 2021. Trica graduated from Ferrum College in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Health Science, & in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Chemistry. She graduated in 2014 from Liberty University with a Master of Arts, majoring in Management and Leadership. Also, in 2018, she earned a Certificate in Nuclear Medicine Technology from UNC Hospitals School of Nuclear Medicine Technology and Molecular Imaging.
She currently works as a Health Physicist and Associate Radiation Safety Officer for the U.S. Department of Defense.
