Biography
LaTeesha’s sport experience at ACHS began before she even stepped foot on campus as a high school student. She managed the varsity basketball and softball teams during her years as a middle schooler. Using the practice and knowledge gained as a manager, she went on to participate in JV volleyball, basketball, and softball as an 8th grader. LaTeesha went on to letter in Varsity volleyball, basketball, and softball her freshman year, and continued all three sports through her senior year. During that time, she earned numerous all-district awards. She was chosen to represent her teams as a captain five times throughout her career. Academically she held perfect attendance throughout her entirety in the Appomattox County Public School system. She was a dual enrolled student her junior and senior year, attending classes at CVCC, and going on to graduate magna cum laude with an Associate’s Degree before graduating with her high school diploma. LaTeesha maintained a 4.3 GPA and graduated top 5 in her class. She then continued her education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she majored in Sport Administration and minored in Coaching Education, all while managing the UNC Track & Field team, participating in Club Basketball, and playing various intramural sports each semester. After successfully earning her bachelor’s degree at UNC, she completed a Master’s of Kinesiology at UNC Greensboro, with a concentration in Community Youth Sport Development. LaTeesha’s service to her community includes a wealth of volunteer experience such as being a Girls on the Run coach, volunteering at recess for local elementary schools, and coaching youth sports teams. She now resides in Oregon where she currently works at Nike, Inc. World Headquarters with the Social and Community Impact team. In her 7.5 years with the company, LaTeesha has held several titles. Her current role focuses on getting kids up and active, and supports organizations that utilize the power of sport to drive positive youth development.
