John Pettyjohn

During John’s 31 years as a history teacher at Appomattox County High School he coached Boys’ Tennis, Football, Baseball, JV Basketball, and 8th grade basketball. He coached for 15 years during his tenure. John had the privilege of working with some great athletes, teachers, students, and coaches. Some of his fondest memories include making the playoffs in football and baseball while in the 2A Seminole District. This is when there were only 3 state classifications. Another of John’s fondest memories was driving the tennis team to matches in his old Subaru wagon. John would fit six players in the wagon and head to the away match. Fun times!
